Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) has granted approval for Aldau Development’s residential led mixed-use scheme designed by Apt, providing 669 residential apartments, a 90 key hotel, hospitality and retail space at ground floor.
The development will create a new destination on Portal Way, transforming the surrounding public realm while delivering a significant economic and social boost for the borough and local community. In addition to providing high quality apartments, Build-To-Rent and affordable housing, the project also includes a 4-star hotel which together with retail facilities will activate the public realm which through the introduction of a canopy welcomes and draws people in, making the site a place to enjoy, meet and dwell, for locals and visitors alike.
The proposal’s focus on sustainable transport, by providing a much-improved pedestrian pavement widths and better connections to the local cycle network, will ensure that the site becomes more integrated and accessible to local communities.
Bram van der Wal, Director and Project Leader at Apt, said:
“We’re thrilled that the OPDC has approved the proposal which will has not only been configured to complement North Acton’s emerging Southern Gateway cluster but also create a new destination for the local community, and we look forward to working with Aldau through the next stages of the project.”
Niall Watters of ALDAU Development added “The tireless work of our design team and officers is evident in the quality of the scheme which received unanimous consent today. We are excited to move forward and deliver. This highly efficient, residential led, mixed-use scheme with hotel, will stand out in a busy Build to Rent market, brining hospitality to real estate and much needed new homes to West London”
