        We work as a collective in a transparent and logical way. We do not have a house style and believe that every project should be looked at afresh.

        We create desirable places to live and work that are richly detailed and diverse in character, celebrating the culture, customs and heritage of their setting, reinforcing a sense of identity and place.
        Through our engaging design process of sketching, model making, drawing and discussion, we deliver great buildings that people talk about and enjoy.

                Apt Apprenticeship 2021

                Apt have an opportunity for an apprentice to join our firm to gain on the job experience as well as an undergraduate degree in Architecture (Part 1). 

                The apprentice will work under the supervision of an architect, senior architect or Project / Studio Leader who has the overall responsibility for delivering a project. The apprentice will understand the design process, develop ideas, have a detailed understanding of the constraints and opportunities that influence a project. 

                Each week is different and will include hand sketching imagery, studying, creating models in the model shop, using appropriate digital media to create and edit drawings including 3D models with Revit and CAD package software; SketchUp. 

                The apprentice will build an understanding of how to negotiate client objectives and project constraints and how to contribute to feasibility studies, conceptual and technical proposals, through to construction phases. 

                During your time as an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for part of a project under supervision and manage your time. Develop a strong sense of ownership and background knowledge of your project(s) and tasks. As your skills develop you will demonstrate design awareness and contribute towards the creation of spaces in which people live, work, sleep, eat, shop and have fun. 

                Working week – 40 hours per week with 8 hours each week reserved to attend university during semesters. 

                Salary – £18,137.60

                Qualifications required

                • A Level BBC, or
                • BTEC National Diploma DDM, or
                • Access to HE qualifications with 15 Distinction 30 Merit, or
                • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points (must be include an Art or Design subject)
