With over 25 years of international experience, Fernando joined Apt in 2026 as Associate Director.

As a design-led architect, he combines creative thinking, extensive expertise in design, concept development, technical coordination and construction management, all underpinned by a commitment to architecture that enhances communities and drives lasting value.

Fernando's formative years were spent at Stanton Williams in London, where he progressed from Assistant Architect to Senior Associate. During this time, he worked across the education, residential, cultural and civic sectors and contributed to several award-winning and internationally recognised projects, including Central Saint Martins and The Lighterman at King's Cross, the Sainsbury Laboratory in Cambridge, and Eton Manor for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Originally from Mexico, Fernando later returned to the country to lead the design and construction department for a developer specialising in private affordable housing and mixed-use projects.

He later founded and led an independent architectural practice, working with embassies and high-profile private clients, that achieved international recognition, including shortlisting for the RIBA International List 2018 and the AIA UK Award for Design Excellence.
