Ismael is an Associate at Apt with extensive experience delivering high-profile projects across the UK, and internationally. His passion for architecture began in childhood, nurturing an early fascination with design and creativity.
After graduating from the Superior Technical School of Architecture in Barcelona in 2001, Ismael gained valuable experience at Mateo Architects. During this time, he worked on a wide range of projects including the headquarters of Bank Sabadell in Barcelona, a hospital in Girona, a hotel for AC Hotels, and a mixed-use tower in Barcelona.
Before joining Apt, Ismael was at Stanton Williams, where he contributed to significant schemes such as the Riverwalk residential development in Westminster, the retrofit and extension of Tintagel House, a flagship academic building for University College London in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the Whittington Building, a mixed-use development in the City of London. He also played a key role in a life sciences scheme in Cambridge.
At Apt, Ismael brings a strong foundation in commercial, residential, and education sectors, combining thoughtful design with a collaborative approach. His ability to lead complex architectural initiatives is matched by a keen focus on sustainable design strategies.
Alongside his project work, Ismael is passionate about mentoring and knowledge sharing, actively contributing to practice-wide initiatives. His attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to sustainability underpin his design process and ensure the delivery of thoughtful, enduring architecture.
In his free time, Ismael enjoys long walks in the countryside and discovering hidden corners of London, finding inspiration in both natural landscapes and the urban fabric.
