Recognizing the need is the primary condition for design.”
Inspired by problem-solving and design’s ability to influence everyday life, James completed his architectural education in Sheffield. Here, he explored his interest in sustainable regeneration, focusing on activating and reimagining redundant spaces in our cities to improve the long-term potential of neighbourhoods.
Having joined Apt in 2024, James brings significant experience from his previous practices working on residential-led schemes. His portfolio covers a variety of scales ranging from small infill housing developments to mixed-use 1,700 home masterplans.
Outside the studio, James likes to make the most of London, finding new music and comedy.
