Architecture is not just about the object but about the space it creates and the connections it fosters.”
Michael joined Apt as an Associate in 2024, bringing nearly a decade of experience from Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), where he worked in their Shanghai and London studios. At KPF, he specialized in large-scale, complex projects internationally and in the UK, gaining extensive experience across the Residential, Extra Care, Office, Hotel, and Life Science sectors. His recent KPF projects include 70 Gracechurch Street (a BREEAM Outstanding office tower in London reusing 60% of the existing structure), One North Quay (Europe's tallest Life Science building), and 40 Charter Street (a 52-story residential development with 552 apartments).
Michael is driven by a deep belief in human-centric design, striving to create built environments that resonate with individuals on multiple levels. He finds fulfilment in the nuanced interplay of tactile materials and meticulously crafted architectural details, as well as in the broader, strategic integration of design concepts throughout a building.
When not designing in the studio, Michael enjoys running, cycling and making the most of the beautiful Kent countryside with his wife and two girls.
