Form ever follows function”
Originally from Debrecen, Hungary, Roland grew up in the small, tight-knit communities of Italian Puglia, where he first developed a profound interest in spatial design. After graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture, he kicked off his professional career here at Apt as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant.
During his studies, he devised projects richly characterised by mechanised elements to pursue a harmonious balance between industrial functionality and architectural beauty. Fleerakker’s Arc, his third-year final project, is a modular, self-sustaining cultivation complex partially based on floating platforms, which aims to deliver temporary nutritional relief to Rotterdam’s population in the wake of planned farmland flooding induced by rising sea levels.
Outside office hours, Roland is on the streets of London hunting for the next best shot on his Nikon FE film camera or practising his drone piloting skills.
