This is Leonor Teixeira Dias
Architecture has the ability to be humble and familiar, but simultaneously singular”
Leonor is originally from Aveiro, a small city in Portugal filled with canals and colourful Art Nouveau architecture. Exposure to how the city dealt with its heritage developed her interest in the relationship between the built environment and its people. At the age of 16, Leonor moved to Scotland, where she later completed an MA(Hons) in Architecture at the University of Edinburgh.
In her final year project and as part of jig, an eight-person adventure, Leonor designed for a community in the Highlands. The collective project challenged norms of architectural education and was later nominated for a RIBA Bronze President’s Medal.
For Leonor, working at Apt was not only an opportunity for personal and professional development, but also a chance to work within an inclusive and creative environment.
Leonor enjoys experimenting with analogue photography and exploring the city. Whenever possible she likes going back to Portugal and discovering new places within it.
