Ben joined Apt in 2024 after completing his Part 2 studies at The Bartlett School of Architecture. He began his architectural career in Oxfordshire, where he gained experience working on a diverse array of projects, including one-off houses, leisure facilities, and a private healthcare campus.
During his studies, Ben embraced a hands-on approach to design, using model-making and drawings to refine both the technical details and the atmospheric qualities of his projects. His work included designing a thermal spa in a disused quarry and an archive for climate change in Sicily, each project emphasising the importance of a unique response to context. This approach led him to create a construction material that measures the severity of climate change for his master’s Thesis.
When not in the office, Ben spends most of his time outdoors. Despite growing up in the countryside near Milton Keynes, he somehow took to Winter sports. He previously competed in freestyle Snowboarding and Ice Hockey for his university teams.
