Design that is context driven from massing to material allows for truly unique placemaking”
Bram’s drive to build quickly evolved from humble garage extensions and row houses to large mix-use projects giving him a unique understanding of complex briefs which create spaces that have people and context at their heart.
Bram joined Apt in 2018 from Foster + Partner Architects, where for over a decade he was involved in numerous projects including Central Markets, a 650,000m² mixed-use development scheme in Abu Dhabi. His extensive experience also includes the design and construction of the Bund Finance Centre, a 420,000m² mixed-use scheme in Shanghai which includes five tall office towers, a 70m 5-star hotel, a retail podium and a culture centre.
At Apt, Bram has been working on phase 2 of the Royal Albert Dock, a 65,000 m² mixed use development including two residential buildings, an office building, car park structure, energy centre and hotel as well as a vibrant new public square.
Originally from the Netherlands, Bram’s passion for architecture brought him all around the world including a 4 year stint in China before returning to the UK.
