Balancing the needs and desires of people, cities and the environment is both a science and an art.”

Paul originally joined Apt in 2010, having worked on a number of residential, education, and cultural projects at smaller practices in Edinburgh and Cambridge. After a year away exploring alternative careers, he re-joined Apt in 2013 and has since gained experience on a wide variety of projects across the practice’s portfolio, including 1, 3 & 6 Merchant Square, 1 New Street Square, and Auriens St. Johns Wood.

An associate at Apt, Paul is currently leading the on-site delivery of 2 Trafalgar Way, a student accommodation-led mixed use scheme of three buildings in Canary Wharf, which is aiming to become Europe's tallest Passivhaus building.

Paul’s interests lie in social and sustainable architecture, and in the interaction between people and the built environment. His rigour and attention to detail mean that he particularly enjoys developing creative and contextual responses to constrained sites and complex briefs.

Away from the studio Paul likes to take advantage of London’s many museums and art galleries, as well as spending time outdoors whether cycling, climbing or camping.
