Sonya came to London to complete her masters in architecture at the University of Westminster. Her 1st year project explored wood bending techniques and her Error 101 installation was chosen to be sponsored and built at Burning Man 2018. 101 modules were shipped to San Franciso and assembled in a Nevada desert in 5 days. It was then invited to Toronto Light Festival in January 2019.
After completing her masters, Sonya worked on an independent project for a beauty studio in central Paris. The design was inspired by the interior of a spaceship and included some custom furniture. In September 2020, Sonya joined Zaha Hadid Architects and worked there for over a year on a large, mixed-use development in Hangzhou, China. She joined the Apt studio in 2021 and is part of the 2 Trafalgar Way team.
Sonya enjoys going to museums and galleries, playing tennis and boxing. She often goes to life drawing classes, which she believes are very useful for understanding how a body behaves in a space.
